The ukiyo-e printing depicts the Lake Kasumigaura in the early morning. As the cold colors underlie, this artwork is the scene of the winter and express the freezing weather. A man is pouring away the water that has been used to wash rice to the lake from the boat with the roof. The boat is placed in the diagonal of the screen.   And the two white egrets are flying away.   It may be no sound around there except them.   200 years after Kastushika Hokusai (1760-1849) drew the landscape of Ushibori, Kawase Hasui (1883-1957) also make the woodblock printing “Evening of Ushibori”              Previous   Next           Back to the gallery of “Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji”
