Edo Kiriko Wine Glass: Red

The history of the Edo-kiroko glass started in 1800’s . The wholesaler of the glass Kagaya Kyubei in Edo invented the way of curving the glass from Europe. He used a emery for the curving. But during the Edo Period (1603-1868), there were no cut glass with colors. All of the products was clear and transparent.

The beautifully colored and various patterns of the Edo-kiriko glass showed in Meiji Period (1868-1912).
